Laboratory for Functional Materials

The Schougaard research group focuses on the development and investigation of electrochemically active materials for use in charge storage devices such as batteries and supercapacitors. We are developing techniques to investigate intrinsic properties of such materials, and propose innovative ways to overcome limitations. For battery research, a particular focus is placed on combining mixed conducting polymers with classical electrode materials. In doing so, we have developed strong ties to industrial partners, who take active interest in our research, provide feedback, and finance projects. Consequently, our work is industrially relevant and can have direct impact in real-life applications.
